About Kansas City

In Kansas City, Kansas, your group will experience many thought-provoking service and learning activities. YouthWorks has built relationships with community members who are deeply committed to their neighborhoods and are eager to invite you in. There’s a strong Latino cultural presence here that your group will experience through hearing a local community expert talk about immigration issues in the neighborhood.

Serving in Kansas City

  • Students may serve all or part of the week at a food shelf, clothing distribution center, soup kitchen, children’s program or elder care facilities.

    Note that many of the children’s programs we partner with run until mid-July.
  • Serve through painting, cleaning, helping with yard work or doing other simple work projects.
  • During the week, students may serve at one or more of the service options.
