Core Purpose and Values

Our Purpose
SportsLife Camps is committed to serving God through our work, whether that work takes place in an office, at a church or anywhere else. We share a passion for Jesus Christ, and we are genuinely excited about SportsLife's mission of serving His church by helping elementary-aged kids grow to know and love Jesus.

As a ministry of YouthWorks, our overall mission is to serve the Church by providing life-changing, Christ-centered resources for ministry. Within that greater mission, the purpose of SportsLife Camps is to help the Church develop children's faith in Jesus through staff who love the Lord, love kids and are trained to deliver an innovative and Biblically focused program that includes Scripture, sports, arts, music, games and more!

Our Values
It is important for people to know what we value and why. We have six things we consider to be our core values. These are our essentials:

LOVING JESUS
We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), so we want everything we say and do to give glory to the name of Christ. As we interact with children and adults during camp and throughout the summer, we want our joy and excitement to stem from our love of Jesus and draw them into a similar experience with Him. Very simply, Jesus is the reason our ministry exists.

LOVING CHILDREN
We want to love children as Jesus did. Jesus said "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children" (Matthew 19:14). We want to follow Jesus' example of connecting with children and celebrating the joy, enthusiasm and energy that God created in them.

LOVING THE CHURCH
We know that we cannot do it all as a ministry; especially when it comes to working with the local church. Therefore we decided to come alongside the Body of Christ to provide a particular service that supports the Church's ministry to children and families. We are not a replacement for anything the Church does, but rather we are meant to be a "boost" to what they are already doing.

EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP
When it comes to serving the Body of Christ, we believe it deserves nothing but the very best. We commit to serving the church with gifted, professionally trained and creative servants who love the Lord and are passionate about developing children's love for Jesus. We seek people who are serious about growing in their faith, and who want to be used by the Lord to bring about real heart change in the lives of both kids and adults they encounter at camp.

INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING
We recognize that even the most creatively written program, the newest equipment and supplies and the most dynamic staff in the world cannot transform a human heart – this is God's job. That is why we strive to invite God to guide everything we do. When God is leading the charge, we are no longer limited to our own abilities. Our hope and prayer is for God to use our innovative approaches to reach people in new and profound ways. We can do everything through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

OUTRAGEOUS FUN!
We believe that having fun is a way God's love can reach people, especially kids, in transformational ways. We aim high and seek to make our camp one of the most memorable experiences of a child's life and part of how we do that is not just to have fun, but to have OUTRAGEOUS fun!
